The III All-Russia Festival of Sesens (storytellers) has finished
The III All-Russia Festival of Sesens (storytellers) has finished. Festival live-streaming on social media was run by the Republican Center of Folk Arts.
The audience could experience Bashkir, Russian, Slavic, Tatar, native Siberian, Mordovian, Evenk folk stories, epics, munajats, kubairs, bylinas, throat singing as well as Nagabay folklore, the origin and essence of feasts and traditions.
Storytelling performances by 50 participants from 16 regions of Russia and from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates were presented at the festival.
“The festival was running online this year, which brought new opportunities to participation: there was an abundance of new contestants, we could find new ways of art presentation, which evoked great interest among both experts and participants. I would like you thank the participants for sharing their culture and heritage. Actually, it was an outstanding spectrum of cultures and traditions”, said Artur Alibakov, the Director General of the Republican Center of Folk Arts.
Contest judges defined the laureates and award winners. The former were presented by Nikolay Chuprov (Russia, the Komi Region), Zoya Chuprova (Russia, the Nenets autonomous district), Zulyaryam Snigireva (Russia, the Republic of Bashkortostan), Kalybek uulu Nurbek (Kyrgyzstan), Miras Uzyanbaev (Russia, the Republic of Bashkortostan). The latter are Daniil Shoshin (Russia, the Republic of Bashkortostan), Salima Garifullina (Russia, the Republic of Bashkortostan), Urmatbek uulu Uzak (Kyrgyzstan), Asiya Gainullina (Russia, the Republic of Bashkortostan), Hajar Yousif Ibrahim Ahmed (UAE), Albert Durkin (Russia, the Komi Region), Bayir Turlunov (Russia, the Republic of Altay).
Moreover, judges defined special award winners and winners in the following categories: “Storytelling tradition promotion”, “Inheritance of traditions”, “Preservation of the heritage”, “Youth storyteller”, “Ural-Batyr promotion”. A letter of gratitude will be presented to Azamat Mukatov (Kazakhstan).
The nominees were defined by the famous storyteller, Dr. Litt. Rozaliya Asfandiyarova, as well as the Head of the ANCO Sesen’s Center, Nafisa Tulybaeva, the honored worker of culture, Gulgina Baymurzina, the Head of the Russian Folklore Center, Natalya Kondakova, the Head of the folklore section of the Zagir Ismagilov Ufa State Institute of Arts, Fanis Sharipov.
In addition to the abovementioned, the festival was attended by online-judges: the Director of the S.S. Surazakov Scientific-Research Institute of Altaic Studies, a Cand. Sc. History, Natalya Tadysheva (Gorno-Altaysk city) and the Dr. Litt., the Head of the Alisher Navoi State Museum of Literature of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, Prof. Zhabbor Eshongulov.
In the first qualifying stage the judges had considered video performances by 58 participants.
The event is organized by the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs, the Ministry of culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Republican Center of Folk Arts, the Sesen’s Center of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Institute of History, Language and Literature of the Ufa Science Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
