The “Tamga” International Contest of Bashkir National Attire Craftsmen finished

On 14 December Ufa resumed the results of the II “Tamga” International Contest of Bashkir National Attire Craftsmen, which was devoted to the Day of the Bashkir Language. The event was rounded up with the unique fashion show with the best ethnic designers’ collections.

The closing ceremony of the project was attended by the Minister of Culture of Bashkortostan Amina Shafikova. The minister greeted and congratulated the participants of the grand event on behalf of the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov.

“One more time we see how rich our historical and cultural heritage is. Special there are Bashkir traiditional attires with their uniqueness and identity. Our task is to preserve our traditions and share them with the future generation”, she said.

According to the project results, Zulfiya Nasyrova (Ufa) took first place in the category of the Children’s Attire. Roza Yuldashbaeva (Ufa) won the first place in the category of Modern Designer’s Costume. Category of the Bashkir Traditional Jewelry was conquered by Marat Shakhaev (Ufa). Alfiya Akhtarieva from Ufa took the Bashkir Traditional Accessory. Artur Batyrshin (Ufa) and Aigul Galiullina (Ufa) shared the first place in the category of the Bashkir Folk Attire – Reconstruction. In addition to it, the winners of II-III places and winners in various categories were determined. All 36 finalists took part in the online voting to win the "Audience Award". In total, more than 5,000 people voted for the participants. Gaining 610 votes, the participant in the category Children's Attire Zulfiya Nasyrova won.

As part of the event, collections of unique works by participants of the “Tamga-2021” were shown, in which works of the abovementioned categories (Children's Attire, Modern Designer’s costume, Bashkir Traditional Jewelry, Bashkir Traditional Accessory, Bashkir Traditional Attire – Reconstruction) were presented. At the show, the audience was also able to see a collection of works by designer Salima Usmanova, a famous master, organizer of reconstructions, winner of the Grand Prix last year, Yulai Galiullin. Men's business suits were presented by Elbrus Nigmatullin, the showman and musician Zainetdin, singer Zagir Isyanchurin and singer Rinat Ramazanov.

Also, within the program there was a premiere of the music video by Ziliya Bakhtieva called “Min Bashkortsa Hyulasham” (from Bashkir. I speak Bashkir).

On the same day, an exhibition of the works of the finalists of "Tamga" 2020 was held. Roza Yuldashbaeva (Ufa), Guldar Shabieva (Salavatsky district) and Rustam Davletov (Ufa) presented their traditional attires; Rishat Absalyamov (Ufa), Kuat Zhamaliev (Orenburg region), Maria Makhneva-Metusova (Ufa) and Marat Shakhaev (Ufa) - their jewelry.

Moreover, master classes on tambour embroidery were running there. The master-classes were held by the finalists of the project  in 2021: Raysa Kutluakhmetov and Gabida Valieva.

First time the event was held in 2020. Its aim is to bring attention to the unique values of the traditional national attire, to its identity and variety in fusion with the modern fashion trends in the Republic of Bashkortostan. Event was organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Republican Center of Folk Arts, the National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
