Tiple Requinto

Tiple Requinto is a string instrument, close to the tiple, so its structure is characterized by having 12 metallic strings (4 groups, each group 3 strings). In general, the Tiple Requinto is characterized as a melodic instrument, although sometimes it acts as a harmonious accompanist. This instrument is widely used in the regions of the cundi-boyacense high plateau and santanderes. It has had an extensive development in the interior of the country, where it accompanies musical rhythms of peasant origin. The most characteristic musical rhythms in which the Tiple Requiento is used is the whirlwind, where the performer develops a level of important virtuosity.
