Sibay has held a performing contest of Munajat (a folk poetry form, a poetry–confession, prayer, which are sung by old women, it is a reflection on faith, the meaning and secrets of a human life, the relationship between parents and children, the native land and duty). In order to preserve a rare piece of folk culture and to discover and support best Munajat performers, Sibay has held V Interregional Contest of Munajat Pperformers. Guests and participants were greeted by the Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan Ranys Altynbayev. Performances were judged by a professional jury, which comprised known storytellers, culture and education experts of the Republic of Bashkortostan: Asya Gainullina, Mawlit Yamaletdinov, Svetlana Buranbayeva, Farzana Fatkhullina, Fanya Sarbulatova. 198 participants attended the contest. Among them were soloists and groups from 14 districts and cities of our republic.
The contest had 3 categories: Munajat, Nasykhat (preaching) and Koran surahs performance under the editorship of Mawlit Yamaletdinov. In the frames of the contest there was held a roundtable conference on the topic of “Revival of the Munajat, Nasykhat performing arts and the creating of a new genre - Koran surahs in the poetic edition of Mawlit Yamaletdinov. Their pedagogic character and popularization”. According the conclusion of the jury, the grand prix was given to Abzelilovsky district. Top position was taken by Zilairsky district. Kugarchinsky district, Sibay and Burzyansky district achieved the 3rd position. Nominees in 3 categories Munajat, Nasykhat and Surah were defined as well. The organizers of the event were the Administration of Sibay city district, Sesen's School Ural Batyr by the Sibay Art College, Women's senior council “Agynayzer koro (“The Council of Old Women”), The World Kurultay (Congress) of Bashkir People with the help of the Republican Center of Folk Arts.
