The Republican Center of Folk Arts was established 85 years ago, on 20th February, 1937 in Bashkortostan under the name of the Center of Folk Arts. In a while it was renamed to the current one. Over the years of its existence the center evidenced shaping of cultural traditions, birth of new folk groups, and the center itself became the hotbed of cultural life to all Bashkortostan citizens of any age, who have chance to live rich cultural life. The center implements multiple projects aimed at popularization of Bashkir, Russian, Tatar, Mari, Udmurt, Mordovian, Ukrainian and other people’s cultures. Cultural and leisure centers of Bashkortostan cooperating with the Republican Center of Folk Arts, which include 15, 000 clubs, organizations and associations, 1223 of which are Honored People’s and Exemplary groups. The Republican Center of Folk Arts has been a center of the amateur art development for all peoples of Bashkortostan. It saves and cherishes the best traditions of studying, preserving and development of the traditional folk culture! Happy anniversary!
